It is a sport of lightweight, free-flying, foot-launched glider aircraft. It is a splendid sport to be done once in a lifetime. In the context to Nepal, Paragliding is among the favorite sports of travelers and hikers from all around the globe. Paragliding in Nepal was started in the mid-1990s. It is considered a fantastic sport and the ultimate adrenaline rush. Paragliding in Nepal commences from two major cities, Pokhara and Kathmandu. Both of these cities have its beauty and charisma that will let you have a ground-breaking experience. Paragliding in Pokhara will be an enjoyable experience. In Pokhara, paragliding commences from Sarangkot (1592m). Assisted by qualified pilots, with pre-guidance of W’s in paragliding, your paragliding experience will be a fantastic experience. Paragliding in Kathmandu will commence from Bisankhunarayan VDC of Lalitpur district.  You can fly as an experienced or beginner under your belt. You can fly with an expert pilot or solo, and you can also get an international license for paragliding in Nepal.

Detail Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu

Upon your arrival in Kathmandu, our representative will greet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel. You’ll have some leisure time to rest and recover from your journey or explore the vibrant capital city at your own pace.

Day 02: Flight to Pokhara from Kathmandu

Today, you’ll board a scenic flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara, a city renowned for its natural beauty and serene lakes. After landing in Pokhara, you’ll check in to your hotel. The rest of the day is yours to relax and soak in the picturesque surroundings.

Day 03: Hiking to Sarangkot (1590m)

Embark on an exciting hiking adventure to Sarangkot, a hill station offering panoramic views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountain ranges. This vantage point is also famous for its stunning sunrise and sunset vistas. You’ll spend the night at a hotel in Sarangkot, where you can capture breathtaking moments with your camera.

Day 04: Paragliding Tour in Pokhara

Today is the highlight of your journey as you prepare for an exhilarating paragliding experience in Pokhara. Accompanied by experienced paragliding instructors, you’ll take flight from a scenic location and soar above the Pokhara Valley. Feel the thrill of flying like a bird while taking in the breathtaking landscapes below. After your paragliding tour, you’ll return to your hotel in Pokhara for a well-deserved rest.

Day 05: Sightseeing in Pokhara City

Explore the enchanting city of Pokhara, known for its serene lakes, lush greenery, and vibrant culture. Visit attractions like Phewa Lake, Tal Barahi Temple, Devi’s Fall, and Gupteshwor Cave. The day is dedicated to discovering the natural and cultural gems that Pokhara has to offer.

Day 06: Return to Kathmandu

After breakfast, you’ll have the option to either drive or take a short flight back to Kathmandu, depending on your preference and schedule. In the evening, enjoy a delightful dinner at a typical Nepali restaurant, where you can savor authentic local cuisine.

Day 07:  Sightseeing in Kathmandu and Departure

Your final day in Nepal begins with a full day of sightseeing at UNESCO World Heritage Sites in the Kathmandu Valley. Explore historic and cultural landmarks such as Swayambhunath Stupa (Monkey Temple), Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa, and Bhaktapur Durbar Square. These sites offer insights into Nepal’s rich heritage and architecture. In the evening, you’ll be transferred to the airport for your departure, concluding your paragliding adventure in Nepal with cherished memories of your journey in the Himalayan paradise.

Equipment List

1. Paraglider:

  • The paraglider wing itself is the most critical piece of equipment. It consists of the wing, lines, and risers. Ensure your paraglider is in good condition and regularly inspected by a certified professional.

2. Harness:

  • A paragliding harness is where you sit during the flight. It’s essential to have a well-fitted and comfortable harness with secure buckles and connections.

3. Reserve Parachute:

  • A reserve parachute is a crucial safety backup. It should be properly packed, regularly inspected, and easily accessible in case of an emergency.

4. Helmet:

  • A certified paragliding helmet provides head protection in case of accidents or turbulence.

5. Variometer (Optional):

  • A variometer is an instrument that measures altitude and climb or descent rates. It can be helpful for finding thermals and optimizing your flight.

6. GPS Device (Optional):

  • A GPS device can track your flight path, record data, and provide navigation assistance. It’s particularly useful for cross-country flights.

7. Paragliding Clothing:

  • Wear comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing, including layers for temperature regulation.
  • Windproof and waterproof jacket and pants for high-altitude flights.
  • Sturdy, closed-toe shoes with good ankle support.
  • Gloves for warmth and grip.
  • Sunglasses with UV protection and retention straps.
  • Sunscreen and lip balm for sun protection.

8. Communication and Navigation (Optional):

  • Two-way radios or walkie-talkies for communication with other pilots and ground support.
  • Maps and navigation aids for cross-country flights.

9. Reserve Parachute Deployment Handle:

  • A handle that allows you to easily deploy your reserve parachute in an emergency.

10. Carabiners and Quick-Links: – Carabiners and quick-links are used to connect your harness to the paraglider wing and reserve parachute.

11. Flight Log and Documentation: – Carry essential documentation such as your pilot’s license, insurance, and any required permits or permissions.

12. Repair Kit: – A small repair kit with fabric patches, adhesive, and tools for minor paraglider repairs.

13. Water and Snacks: – Stay hydrated and energized with water and lightweight snacks during long flights.

14. Equipment Bag: – A suitable bag or backpack to carry and protect your paragliding equipment during transport and storage.

Cost Included

  • Two nights standard accommodation in 2/3/4/5 star category hotel in Kathmandu located tourist center, or up to you.
  • Meals on full board (Breakfast, lunch and dinner) during the trekking
  • Local fresh fruits like orange, apple, banana and grape etc.
