Trip Overview

Panchase Trekking is a standard short trek and easy trek lying to the west of Pokhara. Panchase Trek is also referred to as Annapurna Hidden Gem. It is an astounding trek to the most popular tourist city of Nepal, Pokhara. Often called as “City of Lakes” Pokhara is a beautiful city that attracts thousands of traveling souls every year. The panoramic vista of the Himalayas range is breathtaking. It follows the popular trekking trails of Annapurna Circuit, Poon Hill Trek and Royal Trek.  On soaring the path of Panchase, you can summit 2500m above sea level and enjoy the majestic views of snow-capped mountains. This trek is graded as a moderate trek and an easier trek of Nepal. If you want to explore the hidden gem of the Annapurna Region, a little far from Pokhara, then Panchase Trek is an ideal choice for you.

Panchase lies at an elevation ranging from 800 to 2,500 meters above sea level which tells us of its divergent geology. Panchase Trek is one of the short treks near Pokhara away from from actual Annapurn route but it is to rural – culturally beaten trek that provides an absolute option to search original beauty near Pokhara for those travelers on a visit, without missing out on the stunning landscape over the Annapurna Himalayan Range and witness the village way of living.

This short trek begins in style through a peaceful boat trip over Lake Phewa to take the trekkers to the beginning point, where a short climb will be compensated through amazing landscapes out over the Annapurnas, Machhapuchhre (Fishtail|), Dhaulagiri and Manaslu, which form the background to much of the trek. The route will take the trekkers up to the World Peace pagoda, by the forest where the trekkers can view the vegetation and animals of Nepal and past a number of villages where the trekkers can witness the everyday lives of the local residents. It takes the trekkers up to the height of 2500m on the summit of Panchase Hill, from which (if the trekkers are willing to get up early enough!) The trekkers can view a substantial sunrise across the mountain ranges.

Trekking in Panchase provides you with lovely villages and a mid-hill cultural life experience. Exposure to the culture and tradition of an ethnic tribal group of Panchase will be a new practice for you. Dominated by Gurung and Brahmin groups, Panchase is full of diverse cultures. The cultural treasure in Panchase will amaze you and make you blissful. The beautiful lush forest and snow-capped mountains are the major highlights of this trek. The forest here is protected and has a more substantial number of orchid species. The mountains range above 800m (Annapurna, Manaslu, and Dhaulagiri) does not need embellishment and praise, they are worth it.

Best time for Panchase Trek

March – April: This is the spring season, the end of the dry season, and the second-best time of the year to trek. During this time there is an infrequent possibility of showers rain and storms in Pokhara then Panchases is possible to have cloud cover at times.

May – June: This is Nepal’s hot pre-monsoon time and it can be quite warm. The valleys all over Panchase blossom with flowers and fresh leaves that make for a very fine trek. Therefore cloud cover can be a problem.

June – Early September: Monsoon season and unfavorable time to do trekking in Panchase. The leeches in this region are very active at the time it is wet and the route is slippery, rainstorms also maximize hugely. Nepal provides some of the best summer trekking in Nepal’s other regions.
